01. About me

Hello! My name is Alonzo Sanchez and I enjoy creating things that live on the internet. My interest in software started back in 2019 when I started working on my senior project focusing on computational chemistry for my Chemistry degree. As I continued to work on my research my interests shifted from studying the molecules themselves to learning about the software that enabled their study.

Soon after I graduated I began to learn how to code on my own. I found programming to be incredibly fulfilling and decided to pursue it further. I joined Hack Reactor and immersed myself in the world of full-stack development. I gained expertise in a wide range of technologies including React, Node.js, and AWS.

Fast forward to today and I know have multiple years of experience using a variety of technologies. Here are a few technologies I have worked with:

  • Worked with client, Discover Financial, to help develop and maintain their internal customer service software
  • Designed, developed, and tested the application using Angular 10, TypeScript, HTML, SCSS and Jasmine.
  • Created multiple resusable components using content projection and ng-template
  • Implemented multiple forms that featured Angular Reactive Forms and Validators
  • Collaborated with the backend team to define and implement GraphQL types and resolvers to reduce the number of database queries by a significant margin
  • Created unit tests for services and components to ensure proper behavior
  • Worked in an Agile team to deliver regular updates to the business team, product owners, and project managers.

Done as a freelance project in collaboration with a colleague for a local HVAC company. The website uses Angular, angular router, reactive forms, tailwind, EmailJS and rxjs. The website was deployed using Vercel.

Angular Netflix Clone

A personal Angular project that showcases all core features and functionalities within the Angular framework. This project, a Netflix clone, incorporates route guards to control access, HTTP interceptors to intercept and manipulate outgoing HTTP requests, reactive forms enabling users to interact with data in real-time, lazy loading to decrease load times and providing a highly responsive user interface.
